The following are five types of Kata (prearranged forms) which are part of the JFAUK Coaching program. Kata becomes compulsory from First Kyu onwards that Judoka must demonstrate in a Randori style fashion. Dynamic, effective techniques must be implemented, showing control, elegance, speed and timing in all executions of the required techniques. Formality, tradition and etiquette must be evident, showing detailed knowledge in the fundamental principles of maximum efficiency with minimum effort - the essence of Judo.
