JFAUK Travelled to Thessaloniki, Greece for an international training camp and competition.
Day 1: Today was a success on the first day of competition which saw over 120 keen judoka take to the matt, including 6 high graded veterans from the Kiwi Club Osaka, this was a rare occasion to see 6th and 7th Dans competing. Our own technical director Sampson Sampson (8th Dan) had the pleasure of refereeing alongside JFAUK’s head international referee Samuel Betu (5th Dan).
We also congratulate Sampson Jnr. who took the gold in the-75kg.
Day 2: Today saw the international training camp take place. The first half of the session was run by JFAUK’s own Sampson Sampson (8th Dan) and Samuel Betu (5th Dan) covering a highly technical breakdown of standing techniques and training methods. The second half was run the by the high graded Japanese veterans who demonstrated advanced ne-waza techniques.
The training session was filled with excited judoka, keen to soak up the wealth of knowledge presented on the tatami.
Day 3: The event is now over and was a great success, with many participants from across the globe. All WJF and JFAUK members helped to create an outstanding event. we thank all who helped to create such a fantastic and welcoming event.
