Combination Techniques
Demonstrate the following combination techniques. Tori’s first attack must be effective and accurate, forcing uke to respond or avoid so that the transition technique can be realistically implemented. Tori must attack and throw in a controlled manner, show evidence of Kuzushi Tsukiri, Kake and Nage – the four elements of a complete throw.
- Hiza Guruma into Tai Otoshi
- Tai Otoshi into Tomoe Nage
- Tsuri Komi Goshi into Tani Otoshi
Counter Techniques
Demonstrate the specified counter techniques as a result of uke attacking in the following throws:
- Kouchi Gari counter with De Ashi Harai
- Osoto Gari counter with Harai Goshi
- Harai Goshi counter with Ushiro Goshi
- Ouchi Gari counter with Tai Otoshi
Groundwork Techniques
Demonstrate the following groundwork techniques:
- The full ten hold down techniques in the groundwork wheel while Uke tries to escape. Control of Uke and movement must be evident. Uke must not escape. Tori must contain body contact.
- Show one escape while Tori is between Uke’s legs (Uke will be on his/her back)
Combination techniques
One escape from the following groundwork hold downs, resulting in any transitional counter technique, arm lock, strangle or a hold
- Kesa Gatame – Scarf Hold
- Kata Gatame – Shoulder Hold
- Yoko Shiho Gatame – Side Four Quarters
- Kami Shiho Gatame – Upper Four Quarters
Contest
- Minimum 3 wins against similar grade or line up of mixed grades.
- 1 draw
- 0 losses allowed
